Basis and limits
This arithmetic assumes one kilogram of filler added for each kilogram of TiO₂ removed, at constant total product mass. It does not establish equivalent opacity, colour, mechanical performance or processability. Other ingredients, yield, energy, freight and trial costs are excluded. Use trial results to decide whether a proposed formulation is acceptable.
Removed kg/t = 1,000 × TiO₂ wt% ÷ 100 × removed share% ÷ 100. Cost difference in USD/t = removed kg/t × (TiO₂ USD/t − filler USD/t) ÷ 1,000.
